Slam Dunk

Jumper, eBay ~ Fur Gilet, H&M ~ Jeans, Zara ~ Necklace, eBay ~ Satchel, Cambridge Satchel Company

I first saw the Isabel Marant's Bekket trainer featured in Queen Bey's video for Love On Top, and ever since then it has been love. Unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a pair of trainers, because heel or no heel, let's face it, that's what they are. The high-street brands, never to be left too far behind, soon jumped on the bandwagon, and there were replicas everywhere. But none that could compare to the Marant's. I paid them no mind, as the studded, printed variety that were so readily available just weren't doing it for me. And then I saw these. Don't get me wrong, I would trade them for the Bekket given half the chance, but the unlikely chance of that happening means I've had to settle. I've had these for quite some time now, but the recent tropical weather means I have had hardly any opportunity to wear them. Never thought I'd hear myself saying those words!

Introducing the Nike Dunk Sky Hi. Aside from my trusted Chucks, I'm really not a trainer girl. They're clompy, (is that even a word?) they're ugly, and they're not exactly trendy. These, on the other hand, are the exact opposite. The sleek shape and concealed wedge make my big feet look smaller, and the funky yet simple print jazzes up what would otherwise be a boring white trainer. And what's more, I don't feel like I should be in the gym when I wear them. If you know what a regular pair of Dunks look like, you can barely tell that these have a heel.

This particular style is no longer available, but they come in several other colour ways, including this burgundy pair, and this camo pair. Prices range between £85 and £95.

Pictures taken before the heatwave, hence the jumper and fur!
