As Erykah Badu kindly pointed out, no one likes a bag lady. Contrary to popular belief, there is no miracle cream out there that will banish those dark circles for good, and until one is invented, there is nothing to do but cover those babies up. The base, for me, is the most important part of my make-up routine. I'm not a fan of caking on the layers, so if my skin doesn't look good, I'm not a happy bunny.
I'm always on the lookout for the next best thing, and when there was nothing left to scrape out of my Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, I wanted to try something new. Although I quite liked the Bobbi Brown concealer, it didn't work wonders for me, so I wasn't keen on re-purchasing it. It didn't completely cover my dark circles, and was partial to the odd bit of creasing before the day was up.
I first heard about the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer from a make-up artist, (thanks Suky!) and after some research and several You Tube videos, I was keen to try it out for myself. I headed down to Space NK, where I was matched up and out the door in no time, feeling rather pleased with myself.
Kevyn Aucoin, where have you been all my life!?! First of all, the name itself sounds so luxurious and alluring. Sensual and enhanced skin, yes please! Size isn't everything, as this little pot of magic proves, as there is a lot of product inside. 18g, if we're being literal, which makes the whopping £36 it costs seem pretty darn good. One use will demonstrate that a little goes a long way, so I can see this pot lasting me at least 6 months, if not longer. The bristles of my Real Techniques deluxe crease brush barely skim the surface, that's how far it goes.
For a concealer, the texture is pretty thick and creamy, and very opaque. I've never used a make-up product that I love as much as I love this. I've gone from bag lady to travelling light, and it feels fabulous! When I look in the mirror all I see - or don't see, are my bag-free eyes!
If you're on the lookout to lighten your load, I would definitely recommend the Sensual Skin Enhancer. If all of the above still hasn't swayed you, this product also doubles up as a foundation. Again, you only need to use a small amount, and it provides you with a medium coverage with a slightly dewy finish. Consider myself well and truly enhanced!
I randomly saw your blog on a facebook feed, thanks to you I have just bought 2 pots, one more day time one more evening! Your right these are amazing!! I will keep a look out for other items you recommend! Thanks
